In March of 2010 I printed a floor for my photography business at my sisters shop and used it for a photo session. I posted a sample image on my photography page and I never dreamed that my fellow photography friends would ask if I planned on selling them.
I worked on the idea with my sister and decided that if anyone was interested I'd be happy to sell them. I ran the business side and my sister became my printing partner.
I had been downsized from my corporate job after 9 years, my boyfriend (now husband) is a US Marine who was deployed to Afghanistan and I had nothing but time on my hands to dream up this little dream. A few days later, on March 17, 2010, I created a Facebook page for the business. There was nothing like this product out there for photographers that could be custom printed that I had found anywhere PPF&B was started from scratch and we learned many lessons as we went.
I passed the time of the long deployment and separation from my loved one by pouring my whole heart into the business. Id give him monthly updates on the growth of our fan base and he would be in awe and disbelief that a little idea could be taken so far.
The final 5 months of the deployment went by quickly as I worked all hours of the day and night pouring my heart into the designs, streamlining policies, procedures, and networking with other businesses and the photography community.
Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months and my amazing friends came on-board to join the PPF&B team as we continued to grow.
Three years since the creation of Photo Prop Floors & Backdrops we have an amazing and dedicated team, close to 4000 designs, exclusive partnerships with tons of designers for our custom printed drops & floors. We even broadened our business with our posing fabric lines, props, baseboards (coming back soon), and a great selection of materials for printed floors and drops.
We have grown by leaps and bounds and we wake up happy every morning to work for YOU! I have heard SO MANY amazing stories from those fans who have been with us from the beginning as well as brand new fans (trying out our products for the first time) sharing how our products have virtually changed their business and made it soar to amazing heights.
Myself, and my team, take immense pride in everything we do, as well as everything we offer to you. I test our products that we offer and always look to our fans for their opinions and feedback. I personally use ALL of our products in my own studio and we pride ourselves on only offering the best quality available on the market for materials, inks, props, fabrics, as well as the partners we work with, etc.
